ADAS kunnen positief bijdragen aan verkeersveiligheid en verkeersdoorstroming, zelfs aan het milieu, maar er zijn momenteel nog enkele struikelblokken. 

Heel wat van deze systemen zijn immers onbekend bij de consument waardoor ze niet of onvoldoende doorwegen in het aankoopproces. Bovendien is de gebruiker niet altijd op de hoogte over welke systemen hij effectief beschikt, laat staan hoe hij/zij ze moet gebruiken en wat van de werking ervan mag worden verwacht.

Daarnaast is er momenteel nog geen sprake van gestandaardiseerde benamingen, symbolen en functionaliteiten van de verschillende rijtaakondersteunende systemen per leverancier.

Het is dan ook essentieel om iedereen zoveel als mogelijk te informeren over zowel het aanbod als over de correcte werking ervan.

Même si les ADAS peuvent contribuer positivement à la sécurité routière, à la fluidité du trafic et même à l'environnement, ces systèmes rencontrent encore quelques obstacles. 

Beaucoup de ces systèmes sont en effet inconnus du consommateur, ce qui fait qu'ils ne pèsent pas suffisamment dans le processus d'achat. En outre, l'utilisateur d'un véhicule n'est pas toujours informé des systèmes dont il dispose effectivement, et a fortiori comment il doit les utiliser et ce que l'on peut attendre de leur fonctionnement.

Et de plus, il n'existe pas encore de dénominations standardisées, de symboles et de fonctionnalités des différents systèmes d'assistance à la conduite, standardisé par fournisseur. 

Il est par conséquent essentiel d'informer chacun autant que possible à la fois de ce qui existe en la matière et du bon fonctionnement de ces systèmes.

ADAS can make a positive contribution to road safety and traffic flow, even to the environment, but there are still some stumbling blocks. 

After all, many of these systems are unknown to consumers, which means that they do not or insufficiently influence the purchasing process. Moreover, the user is not always aware of which systems he actually has available, let alone how he/she should use them and what can be expected from their operation.

In addition, there are currently no standardised names, symbols and functionalities of the various driving task support systems for each supplier. 

It is therefore essential to inform everyone as much as possible about both the range and its correct operation.
